Went out early to Yoichi on a very hot day. Saw a good number of Great Cormorants, and other birds. Too hot to make it clear out the the section of beach in Yoichi closer to Ranshima. I did get the bus schedules and checked access to that area...

I had a chance to travel up to Jozankei, east of Sapporo. It is an onsen (hot springs) town. Many hotels are there along the river. I visited an eco-park, being used as a testing ground for an eco-bio/botany open space. This is where I found a few birds....

It had rained the previous day, so our bird club trip to Maruyama was canceled. Thus, I just had to get out somewhere for the weekend to bird. Shukutsu cam to mind. Luckily, the next day was clear and sunny, so I headed out to the Shukutsu observation deck....

I took my Birthday, and spent the whole day out exploring the Yoichi River path, the tributary, and Cape Moire as well. A lot of new birds spotted. Many firsts. The Herons and Egrets were beautiful to see. Mostly Great Cormorants out. The Wagtails were very animated and playful....
