Naebo Park (visit 13)

Very causal and comfortable birding today with only 3 people showing for our Naebo Park outing. Perhaps the Sapporo snow festival or other things kept people away. A little cold, but not too bad. A light snow falling all around was quite beautiful actually. We saw 10 Black-eared kites all flying together going towards the mountains. As well, saw a White-tailed Sea-Eagle, and my first Eurasian Goshawk. I talked again with Umeki-san, the leader about a logo, similar to what you see in the ABA local chapters. The Japanese Green Pigeon is Otaru’s recognized bird, even though I see a lot of Great-spotted Woodpeckers. So In the next post I will show some of the design ideas. Not sure if it will take hold or not. I might have to just make one for myself, and see what happens….

Jeff 🙂
