I found this wonderful Marsh & Willow Tit article, that I thought I would share. Here in Hokkaido there are Marsh, Willow, Varied, Japanese, and Long-tailed Tits. This attached article focuses on Willow and Marsh Tits.

Sound seems to be the unique differentiation factor, though not always at hand. This article can be widely useful ( I feel) , as well as in Britain, where the article is focused. It explains important key factors in figuring out which is which between the Willow and the Marsh.
This article is with great thanks to https://britishbirds.co.uk & Richard K. Broughton ; in copyright of Richard K. Broughton. The Article is entitled ” Separation of Willow Tit and Marsh Tit in Britain: a review“. source: British Birds 102 • November 2009.
Jeff 🙂

Looks like fun! I should pay more attention to the type of birds we have here.
